On Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, Crystal Springs Resort will hold its second annual Harvest Festival at the Crystal Springs’ Farm, 135 Route 94, Vernon, New Jersey.
This year’s festival has been expanded to two days due to the tremendous turnout for last year’s inaugural event. The 56-acre organic farm at Crystal Springs is a partnership with the well-known Sussex County farmer Duce Tallamy of Green Valley Farms and raises fruit & vegetables for the resort’s restaurants.
The Harvest Festival will welcome more than 30 area farmers and artisanal purveyors selling produce, honey, cured meats, artisanal breads, handicrafts, and much more. Attendees can sample specialty meats from Fossil Farms and Vernon Valley Farms, honey from Wild Thyme, and wine from Ventimiglia Vineyards.
The Crystal Springs team will be roasting rabbit over an open fire and spit-roasting lamb from resort-owned Rifle Ranch in Colorado, as well as serving pulled pork sandwiches, St. Louis-style ribs, rotisserie chickens, grilled corn, and lamb burgers.
The event offers activities for all ages, from pony and hay rides, pumpkin painting, and a petting zoo for kids to live music, wine tastings, and BBQ for grownups.
Admission and parking are free. Hours are Saturday, October 11, 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 12, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
