Pennsylvania 6 - InteriorOn Thursday, August 14, beginning at 6:30 p.m., Pennsylvania 6 (PE6), 114 South 12th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will host a five-course artisanal produce dinner, featuring vegetables and herbs from local farmers Blue Moon Acres, all prepared by Chef Marc Plessis. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served promptly at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.

“Our Blue Moon Acres dinner is the latest in an ongoing series of collaborations between our talented kitchen and local farmers, allowing us to bring our guests the best of the season, all year long,” notes co-owner Gary Cardi. “Chef Plessis and his team are proud to work together with our region’s top growers to bring in exceptional, environmentally-sound products and showcase them with inventive and delicious meals like this one.”

The menu will include: Sister Point Oyster with Pickled Mango and Onion Chives; Burrantini with crushed peas, trout roe, mint and pea tendrils; Baby Cherry Bell Radish with Butter and Sea Salt; Heirloom Tomatoes with Basil, House-Made Ricotta and Pickled Watermelon Rind; Tempura Soft Shell Crab with Aromatic Coconut Broth, Napa Cabbage, peanuts, and Thai Basil; Colorado Lamb Chops with Arugula, Butter Ball Potatoes, Marinated Red peppers and Mustard Seeds; and Bourbon-Vanilla Panna Cotta with Verbena, Blueberry, and Granola

Blue Moon Acres debuted in 1992 as a CSA and has since grown from a small backyard operation into a dynamic and thriving sustainable agriculture enterprise. The 63-acre certified organic farm is located in Pennington, New Jersey, and is also home to a farm market offering organic produce and locally made goods. Founders and owners Jim and Kathy Lyons work alongside their eldest daughter, Ashley, to keep Blue Moon Acres at the forefront of exceptional, locally-driven farming.

PE6 opened to rave reviews in May 2013, with Zagat naming it one of Philadelphia’s “10 Hottest New Restaurants.” Modeled after the dining rooms of the 1940s, PE6 serves dishes inspired by seasonal and local ingredients in a chic yet approachable setting. The two-story, 90-seat restaurant features a pristine raw bar, a striking cocktail bar, handsome marble and dark wood accents, luxurious banquette seating, and large-scale photos of well-known 40s-era starlets and entertainers along the walls. The dining room features plush red banquettes, white Carrera marble-topped tables and bars, rich-colored walls that will pop against panels of white subway tiling, and antique mirrors and cocktail bar shelving. In the middle of the first floor, a bold staircase draws guests to the second floor of the restaurant.

The cost of this special event is $65.00 per person ($55.00 per person for Supper Club members). For more information about PE6, or to make a reservation for the Blue Moon Acres dinner, please visit www.pennsylvania6philly.com or call (267) 639-5606.
