Terre à Terre, Carlstadt’s vibrant farm-to-table restaurant and artisan market, is extending its commitment to feature “local” on its menu and in its artisan market by offering a selection of fine wines from Hunterdon County’s award-winning Unionville Vineyards.
Terre à Terre is the fifth Bergen County, New Jersey, location to offer Unionville’s award-winning wines.
“Good wineries in the state of New Jersey have been one of our best-kept secrets,” notes chef/proprietor Todd Villani. “In fact, many of our state’s wines have been recognized as world-class in international wine competitions. Over the last several years, Unionville has won multiple awards for many of their whites and dessert wines.”
Unionville Vineyards is the only New Jersey winery recommended in Robert Parker’s Buying Guide. They have produced 90-point scores and Gold and Double Gold medals.
Terre à Terre’s arrangement with Unionville Vineyards is part of a state law that allows New Jersey’s wineries to lease space at locations in the state to display and sell wine. Under this arrangement, Terre à Terre will not sell any other wine labels, and patrons may continue to bring their own wine and beer.
To celebrate the new relationship and to introduce patrons to the wines of Unionville Vineyards, Terre à Terre and Unionville will co-host a food and wine tasting. Fork and Cork will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 7:00 p.m., and will feature a 5-course prix fixe with each course featuring a different wine selection. Reservations may be made by calling the restaurant at (201) 507-0500.
