The New Jersey Beer & Food Festival will be held at Crystal Springs Resort, Hamburg, NJ, Friday, June 13 – Saturday, June 14. This weekend-long celebration of craft beers also coincides with Father’s Day, June 15, making it the perfect destination with something for everyone: beer lovers, golfers, and families.
The two days of beer fest events include the NJ Chefs & Brews walk-around reception on Friday, June 13, 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., with five chefs serving food paired with five New Jersey and New York beers. Participating chefs include new Executive Chef John Greeley of Crystal Springs (formerly of New York’s “21”); Michael DeNigris of Stony Hill Inn, Hackensack; Carlo Carbonara of Bottagra, Hawthorne; Andrew Rodriguez of Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern, Ho-Ho-Kus; and Eric Levine of Morris Tap & Grill, Randolph. Special guest Steve Weatherford of the New York Giants will be in attendance and signing autographs. ($75.00 per person)
On Saturday, June 14, the Beer & BBQ Festival tasting event will give attendees the opportunity to try 120 beers from 40 breweries, including many craft brew from New York & New Jersey paired with delicious barbeque in a picturesque outdoor setting (3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.; $75.00 early bird; price increased to $85.00 per person if purchased after June 7).
Also on Saturday, June 14, beginning at 9:00 ap.m., golfers will have the opportunity to participate in the Brews & Birdies Golf Tournament on the Resort’s award-winning Wild Turkey and Ballyowen courses. Tastings of craft beers will be available on six holes of the course. ($195.00 per person for golf & beer tasting, which also includes entry to the Beer & BBQ Fest.) New this year will be a FootGolf Tournament on 18 holes of the Cascades Golf Course, complete with beer samplings. ($100.00 per person for FootGolf, beer tastings, and entry to Beer & BBQ Fest.)
Other activities include a free outdoor grilling class on Saturday, June 14, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., by Crystal Springs’ chefs in the Resort’s Chef’s Garden, as well as free daily tours of the Wine Cellar, which is the deepest, most extensive collection in the Northeast United States.
In addition, all weekend, the Resort’s Crystal Tavern will be serving a special three-course “Highlands Menu” paired with craft beers.
On Sunday, June 15, the weekend concludes with a special Father’s Day BBQ Lunch, 12:00 noon – 4:00 p.m. in the Chef’s Garden. (Adults, $70.00; Ages 12 – 20, $45.00; Ages 4 – 11, $22.00; under 4, free.)
