On Friday, March 14, the Frog and the Peach, 29 Dennis Street at Hiram Square, New Brunswick, New Jersey, will host a five-course beer vs. wine dinner with an Asian flair.
Chef/proprietor Bruce Lefebvre, Mike Fortino, Mitresh Saraiya, and Brian Dymnioski will prepare the dinner, Jim Mullen will choose the wines, and Jared Ruocco will choose the brews, matching one beer and one wine with each course. Which goes best? Diners will be the judge.

Second Course: Bánh Mi Sandwich: Pork Belly, Vietnamese Sausage, Vegetables; Wine: Trimbach Riesling Réserve, Alsace, France, 2009; Brew: Troeg’s Nuggest Nectar, Pennsylvania
Third Course: Steamed Black Sea Bass: Chinese Spices and Chilies; Wine: Emilio Lustau Manzanilla Amontillado, “Cuevas Jurado 1/21,” Spain; Brew: Hitachino Nest White Owl, Japan
Main Course: Korean-Style Braised Short Ribs: Asian Pear, Shiitake, Chestnut; Wine: Seghesio “Home Ranch” Zinfandel, Sonoma Valley, California, 2011; Brew: Avery Ellie’s Brown Ale, Colorado
Dessert: Local Strawberry “Sushi”: Coconut, Mango; Wine: Oremus Late Harvest Tokaji, Hungary; Brew: Neshaminy Creek Coconut Milk Stout, Pennsylvania
