On Wednesday, March 12, 7:00 p.m., Stage Left, 5 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, New Jersey, will host a special wine dinner featuring the remarkable vintages of the Napa Valley’s Stony Hill Vineyard.
Founded by Fred & Eleanor McRea in 1947, Stony Hill continues to make remarkably complex & balanced high quality age-worthy chardonnays, while eschewing the bold, oaky overblown styles that have become so popular.
Special guest Sarah McRea will introduce the entire spectrum of Stony Hill wines, including their Cabernet Sauvignon and a four-vintage vertical tasting of Stony Hill Chardonnay.
The menu is noted below…
Hors d’Oeuvres: White Riesling, 2012; Gewürztraminer, 2012
First Course: Hazelnut Gnocchi with Rosemary & Jamon Iberico; Wine Pairings: Chardonnay 2009 & 2008
Second Course: Shibumi Farm Heirloom Mushroom Pan Roast; Wine Pairings: Chardonnay 2007 & 2004
Third Course: Duroc Pork on Stone Ground Grits with Apples, and Slow-Roasted Carrots; Wine Pairing: Cabernet Sauvignon, 2010
Dessert Course: Warm Gratin of House-Preserved Local Fruits with Madeira
The cost of the Stony Hill wine dinner is $149.00 per person (plus tax & gratuity). Seating is somewhat limited as only a few bottles of older chardonnay are available. To make reservations, please call (732) 828-4444.
Bon Appétit!
