As a fun and timely expression of the Olympic fever, Sharon Sevrens and the team at Amanti Vino (www.amantivino.com), 30 Church Street, Montclair, New Jersey, have put together a lighthearted way for customers to show their competitive spirit… via their favorite wines and beers.
“In honor of Winter Olympics in Sochi, we thought it would be a kick to create a ‘tournament’ complete with brackets that pit wines and beers from 16 countries against each other,” enthused Sharon Sevrens, sommelier & proprietor of the Church Street boutique wine, craft beer, and spirits shop. “At the end, we’ll have a crowd-chosen champion.”
The most purchased wine or beer for each pairing is the winner and will move into the next round. For each bottle a customer buys, their name will be entered into a drawing for a prize. One name will be drawn for each match-up (16 winners in total over 4 rounds).
Wines & beers are from countries represented in the games and all are crowd-pleasers under $23.00. Matches were formed based on customer preference by country; all picks are top sellers from each country.
The “competition” begins tomorrow, Saturday, February 8, and runs through February 23. The Participants include…
