On Tuesday, December 31, the Mercersburg Inn, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a special gala of dinner and dancing.
The evening, which requires a one night stay, will include a five course chef’s dinner with wine beginning at 8:00 p.m.; dancing until ? in the Great Room; watching the ball drop in Times Square; Champagne toast and finger sweets at midnight; gourmet three-course breakfast; and late breakfast and late checkout on New Year’s Day.
Noted below is Chef Dan Nowalk’s five-course New Year’s Eve menu is noted below (a vegetarian entrée is available upon prior request).
Appetizers (Choose of): Duck Terrine with Green Peppercorns; Baked Brie en Croute with Raspberry Coulis and Pistachios
Salads (Choice of): Spinach Salad with Cassis Vinaigrette, Gorgonzola Cheese & Tomato; Frisée Salad with Chèvre, Hazelnuts with a Hazelnut Vinaigrette
Soups (Choice of): Celery Root Velouté; Truffled Wild Mushrooms in a Duck Consommé
Entrées (Choice of): Grilled Delmonico Steak with Potatoes Dauphinoise and Sauce Madeira; Broiled Chilean Sea Bass with Pomegranate-Red Wine Mignonette and Goat Cheese Mashed Potatoes; Herb-Roasted Game Hen with Supreme Sauce and Mashed Potatoes
Desserts (Choice of): Tart Tatin; Chocolate Truffle Tart

The cost of the dinner and party is $160.00 per person; and, as noted above, an overnight stay is required. Black tie preferred; jacket and tie required (adults only please).
