On Saturday, September 14, 7:00 p.m., Crystal Springs Resort, Hamburg, New Jersey, will inaugurate its new Sommelier Dinner Series with a Rare Riesling Dinner with guest sommelier Paul Grieco.

A James Beard award-winning sommelier and self-professed “Riesling evangelist,” Mr. Grieco co-owns Hearth Restaurant and Terroir wine bars in New York City and is the architect of the “Summer of Riesling” nationwide program to highlight this underappreciated grape varietal. This dinner will mark the end of the “Summer of Riesling” in spectacular fashion in Crystal Springs’ award-winning 135,000 bottle wine cellar.

Mr. Grieco will co-host the dinner with Crystal Springs’ sommelier Susanne Lerescu, a native of Germany and a fan of Riesling in her own right. They will talk about the origins of the grape, the regions it grows in, how it pairs with food, how well the grape ages, and much more.

The Rare Riesling Dinner will feature ten Rieslings, including storied vintages from the grape’s most iconic wine regions – Mosel and Rheingau in Germany; Alsace in France; and Wachau in Austria – paired with a menu of German-influenced dishes created by Crystal Springs’ Executive Chef, Timothy Fischer.

The Rare Riesling Dinner menu is noted below…
