On Sunday, August 4, restaurateur Dave Magrogan will debut his new Italian Bistro, Stella Rossa Ristorante at 20 East Lancaster Avenue in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Lunch will begin on Monday, August 12 and brunch will commence on Sunday, August 11.

The restaurant’s airy dining room contains 225 seats, while a gorgeous alfresco patio overlooking the Brandywine River includes 50 seats. The private dining room can host 50 guests; and an expansive bar has 25 seats.

“At Stella Rossa, guests will experience the art of Italian dining,” noted Mr. Magrogan. Modern and traditional dishes will be prepared with locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Artisan cheese, charcuterie, and olive program will be sourced by Philadelphia’s Di Bruno Brothers; and the bar will feature an extensive collection of Italian wines, international craft beers, and specialty cocktails.

Stella Rossa will tap into the network of farmers and artisan purveyors that Mr. Magrogan has cultivated since opening his farm-to-table Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar in Glen Mills, PA, in May 2010. “By working with local farmers, Stella Rossa will utilize the freshest products available,” he noted. “Guests will enjoy a true Italian experience featuring inventive pasta dishes, house-made mozzarella, innovative salads, and seasonally-changing wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, entrées, and appetizers.” Mr. Magrogan has tapped Anthony DiPascale as Stella Rossa’s executive chef.
