The Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern, Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, has announced it has been honored with the coveted 2013 Award of Excellence from the Wine Spectator.

The Wine Spectator Restaurant Wine List Award recognizes restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections that are appropriate for their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. This award recognizes a wine list of 100 or more quality wine selections that thematically match a restaurant’s menu, ambiance, and price.

“The Inn was noted for the overall quality of its wine program and service, with special strengths including our selection of moderately priced wines from California, France, and Italy,” noted the Inn’s Wine Director, Robert Lipkin. “Many of our guests are unaware that a generous portion of the space beneath the tavern room is actually a wine cellar. Nestled against the Inn’s stone foundation, hand-laid in the late 1700s, are over 300 labels of wines for every budget from all over the world; and our Crystal Room displays our 1,100 bottle temperature controlled custom wine cabinet,” Mr. Lipkin continued. “We are thrilled to have received this highly sought-after recognition.”

Meticulously restored and under new ownership since 2009, the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern has been redesigned for an optimum dining experience serving gourmet offerings in a casually elegant atmosphere. Touching virtually every aspect of one of the community’s most beloved and historic buildings, the renovation included the addition of a casual 33-seat Tavern, a bluestone patio, and outdoor fireplace for seasonal outdoor dining.

Executive Chef Andrew Rodriguez creates innovative, new American fare using the freshest ingredients from select local and regional farmers and purveyors. The Inn sources the majority of its perishable ingredients through Zone 7, the farm fresh distribution service that connects select NJ restaurants with responsible and sustainable regional farmers.

The Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern is located at One East Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and is open every day from 11:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and until 2:00 a.m. on weekends. Brunch is served Sundays from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Reservations may be made by calling (201) 445-4115 or via the Open Table link at http://www.hohokusinn.com.
