On Sunday, October 6, 2013, a group of travelers led by Chef Michael Solomonov will depart for Israel for a once-in-a-lifetime culinary and cultural tour of the country. Limited space is available for fans and friends of Chef Solomonov’s acclaimed modern Israeli restaurant, Zahav, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
For $6,750 per person (based on double occupancy), guests will tour Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, spend a night in a Bedouin tent, float in the Dead Sea and more, all while experiencing the food, drink, and hospitality of Israel as only a natural-born citizen can show it.
The itinerary includes: Flights to and from Newark Liberty International Airport; Tours of Jerusalem’s Old City & New City; the Machane Yehuda Market; Flam Winery & Golan Heights Winery, a working date farm at Kibbutz Kinneret; Hikes of Nahal David, the Galilee & Masada; Meals in an Iraqi shouk, a Bedouin tent at Kfar Hanokdim, Tel Aviv’s Yemenite Quarter, and in an apple orchard; Nights in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Rosh Pina, and in a Bedouin tent.
“This trip is a food lover’s dream, with meals that range from multi-course gourmet feasts to street food eaten with our hands as we stroll through a market,” notes Chef Solomonov. “We’ll be traveling with a group of talented North American chefs, and every member of our group should rest assured that they will eat well and experience a true ‘taste of Israel’ while traveling with me.”
