Savoring National Burger Month 1

May is National Burger Month… So in upcoming posts, I’ll be checking out a number of  interesting restaurants in and around the NJ/NY Metro area that are offering up some downright sumptuous, cunningly creative burgers that are sure to satisfy your summer cravings… Like the Shortrib Burger served at 508 Restaurant & Bar in NYC…

The 10-ounce “Pat La Frieda” Shortrib Burger ($17.00) is adorned with cheddar, caramelized onions, tomato, lettuce, house-made pickles, Portuguese muffin, and fries. Yum!

In addition, 508’s other burgers are also available for both lunch and dinner: 508 Veggie Burger ($15.00): Black beans, Portobello, carrots, bulgur wheat, spinach patty, avocado, Portuguese muffin, Swiss cheese, Rosemary aioli; Mediterranean Lamb Burger ($18.00): Fontina, tomato, lettuce, house-made pickles, red onion, Portuguese muffin, fries

And don’t forget 508’s sliders… BBQ Spare Rib Sliders ($12.00): 508 BBQ sauce, horseradish slaw; Beef Brisket Bulgogi Sliders ($12.00): Kimchi mayo, cucumber, pickled jalapeños; Fried Oyster Po’Boy Sliders ($13.00): East Coast batter fried oysters, kimchi mayo, shaved cabbage, tomato, red onion, pickled jalapeño, cilantro

And chef/proprietor Jennifer Lynn Hill’s burgers & sliders pair perfectly with 508’s beer, brewed in-house by Chris Cuzme.
