From Saturday, December 8th, until Sunday, December 16th, you are invited to celebrate the holiday season with a special Chanukah tasting menu from Chef Michael Solomonov at Zahav Restaurant, 237 St. James Place, Philadelphia, PA.
“Chanukah foods are classics that many of us grew up eating, but the versions we serve at Zahav take those dishes to the next level with authentic spice blends and artful culinary techniques,” notes Chef Solomonov. “There is no better way to taste the flavors of the season than a meal with us, surrounded by your family and friends.”
The Chanukah menu will include: Hummus with Spiced Beef, served with house-made laffa and a selection of salatim (salads); Chick Pea & Olive Oil Soup with braised leeks and pumpkin; Latkes with salmon basturma and apple labanch; Fried Smelts with baby lettuce and lemon purée; Lamb Shanks Braised with Quince, with smoked cinnamon and freekah; and Sufganiyot with pear jam and warm sachlab.
Then, on Thursday, December 20th, the restaurant will host their annual A Very Jewish Christmas Party, featuring Korean food and a movie. Guests will celebrate Christmas as many American-born followers of the Hebrew faith have come to expect: with take-out style Asian-American favorites (elevated by Chef Solomonov, of course) and a screening of a fun, campy film. As in previous years, this event will sell out early. Tickets are priced at $55.00 per person.
