Chinese Mirch, the perpetually-packed Indo-Chinese eatery in New York’s Murray Hill district recently made its debut at 725 River Road, Unit #21, Edgewater, New Jersey.

Widely acclaimed by publications like the New York Times and Time Out, Chinese Mirch successfully marries wok-style Chinese cooking with Indian flavors. In addition to the Edgewater and Manhattan restaurants, there are also outposts in North Brunswick NJ, Stamford CT, and Framingham MA.

The 60-seat restaurant & dumpling bar has been designed to blend youthful vibrancy with casual elegance. Moving past the vestibule, guests are transported to an enclave of modern stylish design that melds ancient Chinese and Indian motifs with contemporary details.

Established in 2003, Chinese Mirch is the first Indian-Chinese restaurant in Manhattan, New York. Loosely translated in Hindi, it means “Spicy Chinese food.” Born of the energy of two distinct cultures – Chinese & Indian – Chinese Mirch is the culinary juncture where Indian herbs & spices meet a blend of Cantonese, Hakka, and Szechuan style cooking.

The Edgewater menu is identical to the New York location. Created from fresh ingredients, crowd pleasers include Crispy Okra, Mirch 65, Salt & Pepper Prawns, Crispy Szechuan Lamb, and Soft Cheese Wontons. The restaurant also offers an expansive vegetarian selection prepared with vegetable stock. Executive Chef Vik Lulla creates light and healthy fare cooked in trans-fat & cholesterol free soybean oil, which is also free of artificial additives such as MSG.

Lunch is served Tuesday – Thursday & Sunday, 11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Friday – Saturday, 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Dinner hours are Tuesday – Thursday & Sunday, 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.; Friday – Saturday, 5:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Chinese Mirch is closed on Mondays.
