Wegmans Princeton, 240 Nassau Park Boulevard, Princeton, New Jersey, is launching a full calendar of events for May that is certain to pleasure parents, children, wine lovers, foodies, craft beer aficionados, and spirits lovers.
Tuesday, May 1st: A celebration of Cinco de Mayo, which will include samples of Mexican food and a Tequila 101 class.
Tuesday, May 8th: A special sample of craft beers and how beers may be paired with food.
Thursday, May 10th: Special instruction in vegetarian cooking, with an emphasis on health and the pocketbook savings of meatless meals.
Saturday, May 12th: From 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. patrons are invited to meet world famous author George Taber. Mr. Taber was the only journalist at the 1976 blind wine tasting in Paris that rocked the wine world. At this event, California wines – for the first time – were judged better than French wines. His book on this event, Judgment in Paris, is a fascinating read, as are his other works. Mr. Taber will have copies of his books, including his new work, A Toast to Bargain Wines, available for purchase and signing.
Tuesday, May 15th: The subject is Riesling, often called the “King of Wines.” Attendees at this special event will sample sweet & dry Rieslings from around the world, includingNew Jersey.
Thursday, May 17th: Side dishes, which can make or break your summer picnic, will be the subject of this special event.
Tuesday, May 22nd: The focus will be on “What’s Fresh in May.” There will be samplings of spring vegetables and fruits, along with appropriate recipes.
Thursday, May 24th: Wegmans will celebrate National Wine Day a day early with a much requested Wine 101 class. Attendees will learn the basics of wine, how to order wines when dining out, and how to serve and store wine.
The month rounds out with a celebratory wine class on Tuesday, May 29th, and a celebratory cake class on Thursday, May 31st.
All events on Tuesday and Thursday will be held in the upstairs Restaurant Room from6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.Events are free, but seating is limited.
