On Saturday & Sunday, March 10th & 11th, 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m., Alba Vineyard in the Village of Finesville, Milford, New Jersey, will celebrate the its newest release, the 2009 Vintage Port.
Aged for two years in small French oak barrels, the 2009 Vintage Port exhibits a rich, lush cherry character of ripe fruit combined with the warming touch of pot still brandy. The warm, jam-like texture and hint of sweetness at the finish make it the perfect libationary accompaniment for dark chocolate desserts and robust cheeses.
In this regard, Chocolatier Diane Pinder, founder of Donna & Company, will be present during the weekend festivities to offer her artisan chocolates to pair with Alba’s 2009 Vintage Port. Donna & Company’s Tuscan style chocolates will also available for purchase to Alba’s guests.
During the celebration, Alba will offer the 2009 Vintage Port paired with special hors d’oeuvres and artisan cheeses. Wine tastings that include samples of Alba Vineyard’s award-winning wines paired with light appetizers will also be available, as will hourly cellar tours.
