london-grill2This coming Thursday, February 9th, Terry Berch McNally and Chef Michael McNally, proprietors of Philadelphia’s London Grill, 2301 Fairmount Avenue, will debut a new sister restaurant, the Paris Wine Bar, next door at 2303 Fairmount Avenue.

Paris Wine Bar will be an intimate 50-seat venue serving the finest local, sustainable wines. “Wine has always been one of my passions – as has the City of Lights – and there is no better way to bring both to Philadelphia than with this new wine bar, an ode to the winsome storefronts of Paris’s Le Marais neighborhood,” notes Berch McNally. “With a welcoming bar and space for private events of up to 50 guests, Paris Wine Bar is the yin to London Grill’s yang, a comfortable lounge to complement our local and seasonal menus and craft beers next door.”

Six wines will be offered “on draught,” tapped from kegs that have been specially filled by the winemakers for Paris Wine Bar. The rotating selections will include two whites, three reds, and one dry rosé, and will change frequently to showcase the best of local Pennsylvania winemakers such as Allegro, Pinnacle Ridge, Galen Glenn, and Manatawny. Wines will be priced at $7.00 – $9.50 per glass, and select wines will be $4.00 during happy hour from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

A menu of French-inspired dishes, created by Chef McNally, will bring a European sensibility to the café. Menu items will include: Croque Madame with duck confit, Brie, and a fried duck egg; Steamed Mussels with leeks, saffron, and mustard served with grilled bread; and Mustard-Crusted Calf’s Liver with smoked bacon-onion marmalade.

Paris Wine Bar was decorated by Berch McNally with her own personal collection of French sconces and crystal chandelier. The bar area boasts high ceilings in the original pressed tin, with French draperies. Local art and sculptures make the space feel warm and homey, and an outdoor café is certain to be the spring’s hot spot for a glass of wine and snack.

Paris Wine Bar will be open Thursday through Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until midnight and is reached by a separate entrance at 2303 Fairmount Avenue.
