blue-morel21Thomas Ciszak, executive chef/partner of Chakra in Paramus, has opened the much anticipated Blue Morel Restaurant & Wine Bar in the former Copeland in the Westin Governor Morris Hotel in Morristown, New Jersey.

Kevin Takafuji, formerly chef de cuisine at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, Virginia, has been named executive chef. Originally from Waianae, Hawaii, Mr. Takafuji is a graduate of the University of Arizona and the French Culinary Institute in New York City. He was sous chef at the Pluckemin Inn in Bedminster, NJ, when it received its four-star ratings from The Star-Ledger and New Jersey Monthly and was the opening sous chef at Country (NYC) when it earned three stars from the New York Times.

“We’re very pleased to have Kevin on board. His experience in the kitchens of some of the country’s top restaurants is perfect for what we’re creating at Blue Morel,” noted Mr. Ciszak. As chef/director to TLC Restaurant Group, Mr. Ciszak spearheaded the redesign and culinary direction of the Blue Morel, and he will continue to develop menus and oversee the restaurant’s kitchen.

Blue Morel offers patrons contemporary American cuisine with French and Old World influences. Menus are dedicated to local, organic, and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant presents a gracious, fresh approach to the farm-to-table dining experience.

For more information, please consult the restaurant’s website; to make reservations, please call (973) 451-2619.

Bon Appétit!
