G.K.’s Red Dog Tavern, a casual dining establishment, will make its debut today, Thursday, June 2nd, under the same roof as Rod’s Steak & Seafood Grille in the Madison Hotel, One Convent Road, Morristown, New Jersey.
Executive Chef Jeffrey Orel will preside over the informal 120-seat restaurant that is situated on the site of the original Rod’s Ranch House, which opened in 1951.
Chef Orel will offer a wide-ranging contemporary menu with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and locally sourced produce, meats, and seafood. The unique offerings include a classic Croque Monsieur and lobster roll; savory lamb burgers; juicy all-prime beef burgers; house-smoked baby back ribs; salads and an assortment of grilled flatbreads. There will also be a “Junior Citizens” menu, which includes favorites such as cheeseburger sliders, chicken fingers, and pizza.
A world-class selection of artisanal ales and specially selected imported and domestic beers are on tap. There is also a carefully chosen and diverse wine list to complement every dish, with 40 wines under $40.00.
The cozy gathering place, which was designed by Tom Limone, is fitted out in burnished wood and deep leather banquettes and is under the management of the Keller family, longtime owners-operators of the landmark Rod’s Teak & Seafood Grille.
G.K.’s Red Dog Tavern will be open for lunch Monday – Saturday, 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and for dinner 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. On Sundays, dinner will be served from 4:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
