red-dog-tavernG.K.’s Red Dog Tavern, a casual dining establishment, is scheduled to make its debut in April, under the same roof as Rod’s Steak & Seafood Grille, One Convent Road, Morristown, New Jersey.

Executive Chef Jeffrey Orel will preside over the informal 120-seat restaurant, situated on the site of the original Rod’s Ranch House, which opened in 1951. He is planning an eclectic contemporary menu that will range from raw bar selections and inspired appetizers to hearty sandwiches, salads, and house specialties like crisp free range chicken under a brick, Tavo’s signature shrimp gumbo, and Tavern steak frites. There will also be a “Junior Citizen’s” menu of sliders, PB&J, pizza, chicken fingers, shakes, and floats.

G.K.’s Red Dog Tavern, a cozy gathering place fitted out in burnished wood and deep leather banquettes, was designed by Tom Limone and is under the management of the Keller family, longtime owners-operators of the landmark Rod’s Steak & Seafood Grille.

The new restaurant will be open for lunch Monday through Saturday and dinner Monday through Sunday… Be sure to watch for the exact date of the April opening.

Bon Appétit!
