Should you be contemplating dining out in New Jersey on Christmas Eve, there are numerous gastronomic possibilities… which I will be noting in the days to come…
The Bernards Inn, Bernardsville, NJ, will be offering two dining options on Christmas Eve. The first is a three-course prix-fixe in the restaurant’s dining room from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Executive Chef Corey Heyer will present a special holiday menu of exquisite appetizers, entrées, and desserts. Dinner is $90.00 for adults; $45.00 for children under 12. An elaborate buffet will also be offered from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. There will be a generous assortment of salads, fruits, chilled seafood, pasta, hot entrées, carving stations, and a dessert station, including an ice cream sundae bar. The bueffet is $65.00 for adults; $29.00 for children 6 – 12; $15.00 for children 2 – 5. Seatings for children under 2 are complimentary. Due Terre Enoteca, also in Bernardsville, NJ, will be offering a prix-fixe menu on Christmas Eve from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The cost is $55.00 per adult; $20.00 per child. For more information, or to make reservations, please call (908) 221-0040.
On Christmas Eve, December 24th, Restaurant Serenade, Chatham, NJ, will be serving a three-course menu from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The cost is $65.00 per adult; $32.00 per child. (The restaurant will be closed on Christmas Day.) Hosts Nancy and James Laird also enjoy creating festive cocktails to celebrate the season. Diners may indulge in the Mistletoe, a combo of Absolut Citron, pomegranate, lemon juice, and lime; the Poinsettia pairs Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve Champagne with cranberries marinated in Absolut Citron.
