Mangalitsa Pork Dinner at the Pluckemin Inn

plukemin2On Wednesday, October 20th, 7:00 p.m., the Pluckemin Inn in Bedminster, New Jersey, will host an extraordinary dinner featuring the incomparably enticing flavors of Mangalitsa pork.

 

Special guests for the evening include: Dr. Emo Hollo, Bernardsville resident and Hungarian native. This esteemed veterinarian has a first-hand experience with the Mangalitsa breed both in Hungary and the United States; Rufus Brown, Cure Master at Johnson County Smokehouse in North Carolina, who is presently curing over 500 Mangalitsa hams; and George Faison, owner of DeBragga, New York’s Butcher, and Mangalitsa distributor in the New York/New Jersey area.

 

This special dinner will also feature optional wine pairings with each course…

Second Course: Smoked Eggplant Risotto, Mangalitsa Trotters, Black Truffles

Wine: 2007 Ceritas Pinot Noir, Escarpa Vineyard

 

Third Course: Mangalitsa Cheeks

Wine: 2007 Clos des Brusquières Châteauneuf-du-Pape

 

Fourth Course: Mangalitsa Neck, Boudin Noir, Lady Apple, Organic Polenta

Wine: 2004 Gagliasso Barolo La Torrigilone

 

Fifth Course: Warm Chocolate Torte, Mangalitsa Lardons, Autumn Spices, Confit Quince

Wine: 1993 Lavemiere Banyuls Grand Cru Clos Chatart

 

The cost of the Mangalitsa Pork Dinner is $85.00 per person (plus tax & gratuity); $135.00 per person (plus tax & gratuity) with wine pairings.
