From Wednesday, September 8th – Sunday, October 3rd, Rosa Mexicano Riverside Square, 390 Hackensack Avenue, Hackensack, New Jersey, will celebrate its annual Mexican Chocolate Festival.
As part of the festival, on Saturday, September 25th, executive chef Dennis Lake will host a free cooking demonstration in which he will share tips on how to cook with chocolate, and its place in traditional Mexican cuisine.
During the festival, the following menu items will be offered…
Appetizers:
Corn & Chocolate Masa Tamale filled with chicken and roasted poblano chili, served with house salsa, $7.50
Slow-Cooked Grilled Berkshire Pork Belly Tacos marinated in tequila and chocolate, served in warm corn tortillas with molcajete salsa, $9.00
Entrées:
Grilled Grass-Fed Sirloin Steak with baby Brussels sprouts, maitake mushrooms and bacon, sweet potato lettuce wrap, and chocolate-tamarind reduction, $32.00
Corn Crepes filled with grilled lobster, spinach, and chili de arbol, topped with cocoa fruit butter sauce, $36.00
Dessert:
Chocolate Chip Banana Cake layered with peanut butter and milk chocolate mousses, house-made banana ice cream, and hot fudge sauce, $8.00
House-Made Chocolate Mole Sorbet, piloncillo espresso chocolate sauce, half-and-half and ice blended together and topped with Kaluha whipped cream, cajeta sauce, and ground Mexican chocolate
