day-at-bakers-farmOn Sunday, August 15th, Stage Left in New Brunswick will host a daylong farm fest celebration at Mike Baker’s Farm in East Brunswick, New Jersey, that will include a cocktail class, wine tasting, and pig roast.

Here’s the schedule of events…

Garden Cocktail Class: 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Both bartender and chef draw inspiration from seasonal and local ingredients. Baker’s Farm melons, berries, plums, and herbs will all find their way into shakers, mixers, and strainers.

Wine Tasting in the Barn: 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

There will be a walk-around wine tasting of wines that have just been released this summer. They will be paired with local cheeses and fresh fruit.

Pig Roast/Dinner Begins at 3:30 p.m.

Hors d’oeuvres will be passed beginning at 3:30 p.m. There will also be a band and other activities, plus the passing of cocktails and house wine. At the tomato bar, participants may bring the tomatoes they have picked and wait as these are transformed into either gazpacho or a blood Mary.

The well-roasted pig will be removed from the spit and served up with chilled soup, pulled pork sandwiches, Giannone Farm chickens, potato salad, local corn and tomatoes, panzanella salad, Baker’s cucumbers in yogurt, and prosciutto and Baker’s melons.

The garden cocktail class is $35.00 per person.

Walk-around wine tasting is priced at $25.00 per person (credited toward 1st case purchase).

Both wine tasting and cocktail class are priced at $49.00 per person ($25.00 credited toward 1st chase of wine purchased).
