wineToday, Wednesday, July 14th, at 4:00 p.m. Adsum, a refined neighborhood bistro serving a menu of progressive cuisine, will make its debut at 700 South 5th street, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The restaurant is a collaboration of Chef Matt Levin and co-proprietor Kar Vivekananthan, a noted entrepreneur and communications systems designer. Chef Levin is one of Philly’s premier chefs, having earned an “Excellent” review from the Philadelphia Inquirer during his tenure at Lacroix at the Rittenhouse. Adsum will be his first time as a chef-owner.

Chef Levin’s opening menu will include grilled rock octopus with black pepper caramel; tater tots with whiskey, bacon, and green goddess dressing; sautéed foie gras with sour cherries and pistachio; wild salmon with beet relish; short ribs with bouchot mussels and brown butter Worcestershire; homemade pierogies with burnt onions, thyme, and smoked buttermilk; and sake with fried broccoli, capers, and Lillet-stewed apricots. Plates will range in price from $3.00 – $22.00.

The bar at Adsum will feature a selection of craft and imported beers, carefully selected wine list (available by the glass, half bottle, and bottle), and innovative cocktails.

Adsum will be open seven days a week from 4:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. (the kitchen will close at 1:00 a.m. nightly). Brunch service will be available on Saturdays and Sundays beginning on July 24th. For more information, please call (267) 888-7002.
