The second annual New Jersey Food & Wine Festival will be held at Crystal Springs Resort, Hardyston, New Jersey, on Friday, April 30th, through Sunday, May 2nd.
The weekend’s events are designed to allow participants to meet and mingle with chefs, winemakers, sommeliers, and fellow wine aficionados. The events will include a grand tasting, charity dinner and wine auction, exclusive wine cellar dinners with vertical wine pairings, seminars with winemakers and chefs, and a celebrity chef golf tournament. A portion of the festival proceeds will be donated to Share our Strength, the leading national nonprofit organization working to end childhood hunger in the United States.
Friday, April 30th, Schedule of Events:
7:00 p.m., Dom Pérignon Dinner Hosted by Chef Paul Liebrandt of Corton – a 5-course dinner paired with library and oenothque vintages of Dom Pérignon Champagne. $400.00 per person; limited to 26 guests.
7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Grand Dinner and Wine Auction – a 5-course dinner with an auction benefiting Share Our Strength. Participating chefs include Craig Hopson of Le Cirque, James Laird of Restaurant Serenade, David Felton of Ninety Acres, Michael Weisshaupt of Restaurant Latour, and Nancy Olson of Gramercy Tavern. $175.00 per person.
Saturday, May 1st, Schedule of Events:
8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Chef and Winemaker Golf Tournament. $250.00 per person (includes admission to the Grand Tasting).
11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Wine Seminars and Tastings: 11:00 a.m., Wines of Australia, $40.00; 2:00 p.m., Dessert and Wine Pairing, $35.00; 3:00 p.m. Lail Vineyards, $35.00; 4:30 p.m., Fonseca Port, $40.00.
12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m., Marketplace Lunch hosted by Crystal Springs and Gary’s Wine & Marketplace. $30.00 per person.
3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Sommelier Taste-Off: Top Bordeaux vs. Cult California. A number of rare and library wines, including several 100-point wines, will be tasted by guests and sommeliers. The panel, including sommeliers Michel Couvreux of Per Se, Belinda Chang of The Modern, and Joshua Nadel of Locanda Verde, will discuss how wines are rated and what makes a 100-point wine. $135.00 per person.
7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., The Grand Tasting, featuring NYC and New Jersey chefs, 30 wineries, including Krug, Chateau d’Yquem, Cheval Blanc, Dom Pérignon, Penfolds Grange, Sassicaia, Antinori, and more. $125.00 per person.
7:00 p.m., Sassicaia Wine Cellar Dinner of library vintages with Maialino chef Nick Anderer and Sassicaia winemaker Sebastiano Rossa. Five courses with wine; $400.00 per person (limited to 26 guests).
Sunday, May 2nd, Schedule of Events:
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Champagne Brunch. $50.00 per person.
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Wine Seminars and Tastings, featuring Château Montelena (1:00 p.m.) and Hess (2:00 p.m.). $35.00 each or both for $60.00.
