The Knowles family, owners of Pleasantdale Château in West Orange, New Jersey, recently announced a special “Spanish Wine Dinner” on Thursday, January 14, 2010, featuring a seasonally appropriate 5-course menu inspired by a portfolio of wines imported by Wine Sources, a distributor of fine wines located in Upper Saddle River, NJ. Alex Berlingeri, President of Wine Sources, will be on hand to discuss the wines and chosen food pairings.
This exclusive opportunity is limited to 70 guests, all of whom will be treated to thoughtful pairings of these Spanish wines to dishes that will include Pan-Seared Róbalo, Seared Duck Breast, a Trio of Pork dishes and other items as well as herbs and vegetables from the on-site Farm at Pleasantdale Château conceived by Robert Albers, executive chef of the property.
“The purpose of this dinner is to showcase the breadth of wines Spain is producing today. This is meant to explore the world of Spanish wine beyond Tempranillo,” said Kurt Knowles, co-owner of Knowles Restaurants including Pleasantdale Château, The Manor and Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange.
From the Mas La Mola, Priorat, 2007 – which will be paired with the Róbalo to the Crespiello, Pulchrum, Carinena, 2003 to be paired with the Sliced Rib Steak with Estofado de Carne de Toro, each wine and food pairing will be discussed by Alex Berlingeri, President of Wine Sources who, with Kurt Knowles and Chef Robert Albers, developed the menu for this event.
The “Wines of Spain Dinner” will be preceded by a cocktail reception in the drawing room of the Château starting at 6:30pm. Dinner will begin at 7:30 in the music room.
To attend this event, please call Lars Johnson, general manager of Pleasantdale Château at 973-731-5600. The all-inclusive (meal, tax and gratuity) evening is $150.
