New Year’s Eve Dining at the Hi-Life Cafe, Ft. Lauderdale, FL

hi-life2On New Year’s Eve, one of my all-time favorite dining spots, the Hi-Life Café, 3000 Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will host a New Year’s Eve Gala, one seating only, beginning at 8:00 p.m.

 

The menu is a sumptuous affair replete with appropriate wine pairings…

 

Pass Arounds:

Seared Tuna Bites with Roasted Red Peppers

Chorizo and Escargot on Spoons

Belgian Endive with Bleu Cheese, Chopped Pecans, Diced Tomato & Champagne Vinaigrette

Pork Tenderloin, Andouille Sausage, Granny Smith Apples, Port Reduction

Wine: Adelsheim Willamette Valley Pinot Gris, 2007

 

Mussel & Chive Soup:

A Purée of Prince Edward Island Mussels and Chives garnished with a Fresh Mussel Cake

Wine: Sonoma-Cutrer Russian River Ranches Chardonnay, 2007

 

Avocado Sorbet

 

Roast Quail:

Prepared in a Portobello & Shiitake Mushroom Sauce accompanied by Peruvian Purple Roasted Potatoes

Wine: Firesteed Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, 2005

 

Beef Tenderloin:

A 6-ounce Beef Tenderloin grilled to Medium-Rare served over a Cabernet & Bourbon Reduction, accompanied by an Applewood Smoked Bacon & Kale Bread Pudding

Wine: Gain Bay Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend, 2006

 

Sicilian Cheese Plate:

An Assortment of Exotic Sicilian Cheese with Flatbreads

 

Tiramisu:

Served with Fresh Berries

Wine: Francois Montand Blanc de Blanc Champagne, NV

 

The gala will also feature a dining room filled with over 500 balloons, party favors, and a DJ, so guests may dance the night away.
