This coming weekend, Saturday & Sunday, October 24th & 25, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., Alba Vineyard in the Village of Finesville, Milford, NJ, invites wine lovers to join in the celebration of the release of their newest red wines: 2007 Barbera and 2007 Heritage.
Harvested in late October at the end of a record warm, dry autumn, the estate-grown Cabernet Franc in the Heritage blend was picked at optimum quality. Concentrated fruit and 24 months aging in French oak barrels combine to give the 2007 Heritage a rich finish with velvety fruit complexities.
Barbera is a varietal that is the most widely planted grape in Piedmont, Italy, and has been a “small plot” experiment for Alba. A true vineyard-made wine with attention to every growing detail has yielded a wine of incredible fruit finesse integrated with a soft, silky tannin structure that the winery believes will compete with the finest of its Italian ancestors.
The Riegelsville Inn will offer light hors d’oeuvres to complement these extraordinary wines, and live entertainment will also add to the festivity of the occasion.
Tastings available throughout the day for $10.00 include various wine samples, light hors d’oeuvres and a free etched Alba wine glass. Participants are also encouraged to take a waking tour of the vineyard or winery with members of the winemaking team. Feel free to pack a lunch, purchase a bottle of your favorite Alba and enjoy the outdoors under the Arbor.
For more information, please contact Alba Vineyard at (908) 995-7800 or by email at albavineyard@enter.net.
Cheers!
