On Saturday, September 19th, the Mercersburg Inn, Mercersburg, PA, will host an afternoon of wine tasting and, in the evening, a 5-course wine dinner, both moderated by Charlie Adler.
Mr. Adler is president of TasteDC.Com and is presently completing a book for wine beginners entitled I Drink on the Job, which covers comic anecdotes, stories, and facts about wine. Completion date is spring of 2010.
The schedule is:
A wine tasting session at 2:00 p.m. with 6-8 wines
A 5-course dinner at 8:00 p.m. with wine pairings selected by Mr. Adler, including a discussion of the wines chosen.

Mache and Heirloom Tomato
Roasted Squash and Leeks in Beef Consommé
Soft Shell Crab A La Meuniere
Braised Veal with Olives and Saffron Risotto
Tart Tatin with Caramel and Crème Anglaise
The cost of the Wines and Foods of France weekend is $115.00 per person and also requires an overnight stay at the Inn. Repeat wine and food guests, $105.00 per person.
