For those who may be interested in culinary fireworks on the Fourth of July, there are plenty of possibilities from which to choose. Here are just a few.
Those in search of a 4-Star Fourth of July, need only check out the fireworks at Restaurant Serenade in Chatham, where Chef/Proprietor James Laid will put his own unique spin on traditional picnic fare.
Offerings will include hamburgers, hot dogs, barbequed chicken, corn on the cob, corn bread, coleslaw and flag tarts – the à la carte menu is also available.
Seating begins at 5:30 on Saturday, July 4th, and the cost is $30.00 per person (plus tax & gratuity). To make reservations, please call (973) 701-0303.
In New Brunswick, Tula Restaurant and Lounge, 47 Easton Avenue, will serve up a New England Clambake – 1 lb lobster, littleneck clams, mussels, Jersey corn, and red bliss potatoes – all for $19.99 per person. (732) 246-0014.
Stage Left will be conducting an old-fashioned cookout in front of the restaurant’s Livingston Avenue location. The entire menu will be available, as well as the “Best Burger in the World” and some items usually not offered, like “Fearless Franks” from Niman Ranch.
The wine list is full of exciting summer wines, and the beer list boasts great American microbrews and several Belgian beers available nowhere else in the country. Service will be from 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on the Fourth. Reservations may be made by calling (732) 828-4444.
At the Gladstone Tavern a special “Lobster Palooza Dinner” is being served from July 1st – July 5th. A complete lobster dinner will be offered at $29.99 per person: New England Chowder or garden salad, roasted 1 ¼ lb lobster, green beans, cob corn, baked potato sides, and strawberry shortcake.
A la carte items include steamed mussels, fried oysters with green onion remoulade, oysters on the half shell chilled artichoke & lobster salad, dry-rubbed baby back ribs, and roasted 1 ¼ lb lobster. For reservations, please call (908) 234-9055.
