hi-life2One of my favorite dining spots, the Hi-Life Café in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will be celebrating the coming of Spring with a sumptuous multi-course wine dinner this Thursday, May 14, 6:30 p.m. So if you’re anywhere in the vicinity, be sure to take advantage of this marvelous culinary opportunity.

 

Here’s a look-see at the menu and wine pairings…

 

Pass Arounds:

Applewood Smoked Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp

Belgian Endive with Stilton Blue, Tomato, Pecan & Champagne Vinaigrette

Baked Mushroom Caps stuffed with Chicken Pesto

Wine: Francois Montand Blanc des Blanc Champagne NV (France)

 

First Course:

Pasta Purses stuffed with Freshly Roasted Hazelnut and Creamy Goat Cheese in a Madeira Wine Sauce with Mushrooms accented with Brie

Wine: Chateau de Parenchere Bordeaux Blanc 2007 (France)

 

Second Course:

Traditional Caesar Salad topped with a Jumbo Seared Sea Scallop and Caviar

Wine: Cartlidge & Brown Pinot Noir 2007 (California)

 

Third Course:

Kona Coffee-Crusted Filet Mignon, grilled to Medium Rare and served over a Yukon Gold Potato & Chicory Stack; finished with a Sweet Cream Garlic Sauce

Wine: Urban Mendoza Malbec 2007 (Argentina)

 

Fourth Course:

7-Up Cake accompanied by Pistachio Gelato

Wine: Quady Elyssium Black Muscat 2007 (California)
