Bordeaux Wine Dinner at Branches

branches3Branches Catering, 123 Monmouth Road, West Long Branch, will be offering an extraordinary wine dinner on Friday, March 27th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Featured will be a sampling of excellent Bordeaux wines and a top-notch menu to match.

 

The menu and wine pairings are as follows:

 

Hors d’Oeuvres

Wine: 2007 Monsieur Touton White Bordeaux – 100% Sauvignon Blanc, this wine is crisp, fresh, and clean in a lighter style and “Highly Recommended by the New York Times

 

Tender Greens, Toasted Pistachio, Verjus Dressing, Vanilla-Scented Scallops with a Warm Tangerine Marmalade

Wine: 2006 Bois Martin Pessac-Leognan – Owned by the famed Chateau Carbonnieux, Bois Martin is comprised of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillion

 

Seared Duck Breast, Mushroom and Leek Soufflé with Sauce Cassis

Wine: 2006 Chateau Fage De Vayres – a unique red Graves from the smallest vineyard in Bordeaux

 

Seared Filet Mignon of Beef, Potato and Celery Root Gratin, Caramelized Shallot-Merlot Sauce

Wines: 2005 Chateau D’Arvigny Haut Medoc; 2005 Chateau Des Carabins Margaux

 

Selection of French Cheese with Pear Jam

Wine: 200 Chateau La Vielle Cure Fronsac

 

Dessert Duet: Chocolate Blackberry Torte and Honey-Poached Almond Fruit Tart
