One of my favorite dining spots, Restaurant Jean-Louis, 61 Lewis Street, Greenwich, CT, celebrates Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14th, with special his and her menus.

 

Menu pour Madame

 

Welcome: Cocktail of Oyster in Gelée topped with Caviar

 

First Course: Bouquet of Langoustines grilled à la Plancha with Passion Fruit Warm Vinaigrette

 

valentine1Second Course: Trio of Foie Gras, One Sautéed – One Terrine – One Mousse with Port-Cranberry Compote and Confit Rose Petals

 

Main Course (Choice of):

Boneless Quail stuffed with Dry Fruits, Double-Baked Ratatouille Flan, Cooking Jus emulsified with Artisan Lemon Oil

OR

Filet of Red Snapper slowly steamed with Ginger, Lobster Americaine Sauce en Cappuccino

 

Dessert: Crepe Filo painted with Chocolate, Whipped Cream with Godiva Liquor, Sherries & Raspberries à l’eau de vie

 

Coffee & Tea, Chocolate Moelleux with Sea Salt

 

Menu pour Monsieur

 

Welcome: Sautéed Carrot & Ginger Sausage, Flat Parsley Extraction

 

First Course: Mushroom Soup cooked under Puff Pastry; Homage to Chef Paul Bocuse

 

Second Course: Sea Scallops glazed in Saffron Beurre Blanc, Leek & Oyster Ragout with Arborio Risotto

 

Main Course (Choice of):

Filet Mignon of Beef topped with Sautéed Foie Gras en Rossini, Baked Potato mashed with Truffle Butter, and Black Truffle Sauce Périgourdine

OR

Medallion of Monkfish braised with Andouille Potato Boulangere with Bacon

 

Dessert: Chocolate Napoleon with Rum Flambéed Banana and Chocolate Ice Cream

 

Coffee & Tea, Chocolate Moelleux with Sea Salt

 

The cost, I believe, is the same as last year, $250.00 per couple… But be sure to call for additional information and to make reservations: (203) 622-8450.

 

And if you may be commuting some distance, my favorite place to stay in the area is the Stanton House Inn, an idyllic bed and breakfast located just a few blocks from the restaurant.
